The organizers will also be holding the IDO World Acrobatic Dance Championship and IDO World Performing Arts Improvisation Cup at the same time/venue. Dancers may be a part of all or some teams but there will be separate choreography charges. For Improv, dancers already attending may enter, we will not hav a separate team
see Ontario Acro Audition tab
IN PERSON AUDITIONS:
AUDITION #1 - completed
AUDITION #2 - TO BE ANNOUNCED
IN PERSON AUDITION FORMAT
PLEASE WEAR BLACK AND BRING DANCE APPROPRIATE SHOES, including POINTE SHOES for junior/adult ballet if you have them. No pointe work for 12 & under, mandatory for 17 & over.
The auditions/teams are generally combined as we usually travel as one group to the three championships - they are held at the same venue consecutively but may be separated in the future.. Auditions are workshop-style s you do not need to prepare any solo for this - HOWEVER - we may ask to see your solo if you have one after the audition to further assess.
GOLDEN TICKETS
Dancers and choreographers have already begun a very busy competition season so the next audition date will be determined shortly. We will also be scouting at competitions and some competitions are giving away Golden Tickets.
VIDEO AUDITIONS
You may send a video audition, however, in-person auditions are always preferred as the choreographer would like to see you work in person and doing their choreography (if offered).
We would like a video from you dancing a recent routine in competition. If you do not have a recent video, please film something with your phone.
Please fill out the audition registration form, e-transfer the $40 fee, and send your video(s) or link to idocanadabjmc@gmail.com.
You e-transfer question should be dancers name/genre/province and answer Audition.
*IMPORANT INFORMATION ABOUT DEREK PIQUETTE
Derek will be the Team Canada Dance choreographer for ONTARIO - Adult Jazz, All Ages of Modern/Contemporary, and All Ages of Acro. We will accept video auditions to idocanadaderekpiquette@gmail.com.

TO REGISTER:
To pre-register for the next in-person audition, , please use our registration form. Non-pre-registered dancers may register in person 30 mins before the start of the audition. Pre-registration is preferred to save time and ensure accuracy. You will be given an audition number at the audition and have your photo taken.
To register for video auditions, follow the same link and select 'video' on the form.
CHOREO/REHEARSALS:
Tentative schedule to be released soon (beginning of August possibility).
RESULTS
We have several choreographers involved and results may take a couple of weeks for a final decision. We will notify EVERYONE whether they made the team or not by the registered email on file. Some dancers may be asked to come for a second look.
Questions?
contact idocanadabjmc@gmail.com for ballet or jazz questions
or idocanadaderekpiquette@gmail.com for adult jazz, all acro, or all modern/contemporary questions.
Please do not contact the choreographers on their personal or studio emails. The team-specific emails are shared with the choreographer(s) and Team Canada Dance staff so your questions will be received and answered promptly.

In the third act of "Swan Lake", the Black Swan pulls off a seemingly endless series of turns, bobbing up and down on one pointed foot and spinning around and around and around ... thirty-two times. How is this move — which is called a fouetté — even possible? Arleen Sugano unravels the physics of this famous ballet move. Lesson by Arlene Sugano, animation by Dancing Line Productions.
